Leatt X-Frame Knee Brace

Leatt X-Frame knee brace Review and Testimonial by Mototerre Ambassador Jess

Hey y’all, Jess here. Early on I was protecting my knees with only a rigid mountain bike guard that offered some front impact protection for the knee cap but really that was about it. Fast forward to the present, after doing some research and watching reviews I decided that the best value for the dollars spent- were the @Officialleatt X-frames.

Initially I sized the braces incorrectly and spoke to a Leatt rep that took the time to walk me step by step through the sizing process and fitment. @mototerreoffroad was prompt and super helpful assisting in the return and ordering of the product. 60 hours later the braces are still comfortable and move well with all the standing, squatting, sitting etc.

The four straps are numbered for order of adjustment specific to your leg anatomy and left in place as there are tabs that allow you to quickly remove two of the straps for fast application and removal. Occasionally the quick releases are a little difficult especially when you’re so spun that small motor skill activities become a huge ordeal. Most of the fabric and padding is removable so you can wash your stank.

The braces fit fairly streamline under your riding pants and don’t seem to catch the fabric on any edges during all the constant movement. They come with extra, thicker velcro pads if more contact is needed on the lateral knee; I found this adjustment unnecessary (thick thighs save lives) but everyone is different. In addition, you are able to lock the braces out at a few specific angles to prevent hyper-extension if desired.

These things are certified impact protection and medical devices (you could get them paid for by insurance). All in all I feel way more confident in tight spots and narrow turns knowing that my knees are supported and protected in all directions.

@mototerreoffroad carries a variety of brands for your protection needs- including the X-frames! They are there to supply you with any and everything you need to get out and stay out on the trails. Check em’ out and check out these braces…you won’t be disappointed!
